Description: The Hive Tyrant is one of the rarest of Zerg breeds to encounter. They are only created when an enemy proves to be very cunning. Being brilliant strategist a Hive Tyrant has total control over the Zerg forces. They have the unique ability to override the control of Cerebrates over their hive wariors. They expertly use the Swarm in massive assaults against enemies. They can control multiple units at once, often using Overlords to triangulate all of the Zerg positions, and attacking an enemies weak point at a moments notice. Physically weak compared to other breeds, the Hive Tyrant is the only known Zerg breed to use alien technology to augment their physical form.
Like most Zerg, Hive Tyrants can burrow into the ground to lie in wait for enemies. Although Tyrants don't particularly like this tactic, they will do so if commanded by the Overmind.
Game Notes: Being created from an alien race of extreme intellect, the Overmind his cautious about creating Hive Tyrants. Although they have been shown to be brilliant tacticians, more than one has severed their link to the Overmind in quest for personal power.
