After sixteen months of research, Frontier and Eorna Scientist have discovered
a way to integrate Frontier and Eorna technology. Eorna technology is a
crystal-based system derived from Eorna Shakaura crystals. Shakura Crystals
grows naturally on Volturnus and has been used by Eorna for most of their
technological advancement.
"Shakaura crystals are a sturdy, electrically conductive crystal that grow naturally on Volturnus. The discovery of this fact has diverted Eorna technology to a more natural state of evolution. Eorna advancement revolved around growing and cutting the crystals for their basic needs, much like we shape metals from our industrial age to this day. The natural conductivity of the crystals bypasses the need to create an outer casing for most of Eorna technology." Stated Michael Donovan, a noted scientist working for the Micronetic Corporation.
Shakaura Crystals was originally cut only for jewelry and monetary units in Eorna culture. Their conductive state made it very dangerous for large pieces to be used in every day life. Subject to static electrical storing, it could kill a person accidentally touching a large piece of crystal. It was also very dangerous to be within 10 feet of a Shakaura crystal during an electrical storm.
According to Eorna Historians, an Eorna scientist developed a device that could ‘deaden’ the conductivity of Eorna crystals. This revolutionized the industrial use of the crystals. The crystals became a cultural advancement in Eorna society. Being economically inexpensive and abundant, Shakaura crystals became the basic building material in Eorna civilization. Almost all buildings from that date forward were built out of Shakaura crystals.
According to scientists, Shakaura crystals are nearly as strong as steel and the conduct electricity 17 times faster than gold. By cutting grooves into a flat crystal, it can actually direct the path of electricity through the crystal. Used with microchips that deaden parts of a crystal, Eorna technology rival the micro-circuitry we have in our society.
The greatest breakthrough has been the integration of Frontier and Eorna technology. The Micronetic Corporation has developed a rudimentary system that allows Eorna and Frontier computers to exchange information. While still in its testing phase, many of the scientists have shown excitement at this breakthrough and hope to be able to discovery the intricacies of Erona technology.
"We hope to be able to retrieve lost Eorna information and help the Eorna to reclaim the Heritage that the Sathar nearly wiped out." Stated Micronetic PR representative. "I’m sure that Eorna and the Frontier have much to learn from each other, and by working together we can develop technologies that will raise the standard of living across the Frontier."

Shakaura Crystals are grown exclusively on Volturus. Although most Shakaura fields have been devastated by the Sathar attack, they grow quickly in their native environment. Shakura crystals grow in arid flats on the temperate equatorial zone of volturnus. They grow at a rate of 1 cubic foot in 12 hours in optimal conditions. Although the current situation of their native environment is corrupted, they currently grow at a rate of 1 cubic foot per week. Shakura columns reach a hieght of 40 feet and a diameter of 15 feet. At which point they can be cut and utilized. Shakura Columns can be put anywhere on Volturnus that is marked as a strange rock formation on the Volturnus map in Module SF0.
Touching a Shakaura column can be hazardous if not ‘deadened’ with the appropriate technology. There is a 65% chance that any column has a charge built up in it and can dissipate anywhere between 2 to 200 points of damage.
Cutting and grooving
Cutting and grooving technology is limited to Erona know how, and is being guarded by
Micronetic personnel on Volturnus. If a character is able to get a hold of some of this
equipment, they must figure out how to use it. The Alien Technology Flowchart found in
the FNN Scrapheap would be a good use for this.

Characters able to develop equipment from Eorna Technology (should be very limited) can reproduce equivalent frontier equipment in 1/3 the volume required. For medium sized equipment such as computers. Things like chronocoms and CAS would still take up the same amount of space because of the human interfacing components (although it would still look cool).
Shakaura and Mechanon
The Mechanon (in my setting anyway) have developed from Eorna robots and the Shakaura crystals. They are currently more advanced then anything the Eorna developed and susceptible to Shakronus weapons (see Below).
Shakronus Weapons
The Shakronus weapons were created as a Law enforcement weapon. There are two types
of Shakronus weapons. The Shakronus Arc weapons and the Shakronus field weapons. The
Shakronus Arc weapons fire a pulse of energy that ‘deadens’ Shakaura crystals. It
creates a ring 2cm at the base and ends up 10 ft at the farthest range before it
dissipates. This weapon is fairly uncommon due to the fact that it will deaden all
Shakaura crystals in its area of fire. The Shakrounus Field weapon fires small projectile
rockets, much like a gyrojet, that upon impact emit a 10ft diameter pulse of energy that
will ‘deaden’ all Shakaura crystals in its field. All Shakaura crystals affected by a
Shakronus weapon will cease to function for 5d10 rounds. This is effectively and EMP gun
against Eorna technology, which also happens to work on Mechanons. Ammo for Shakronus Arc
weapons must be jury rigged in order to accept SEU. Otherwise finding ammo for Shakronus
weapons is very difficult.

Shakaunis Armor
Shakaunis armor is a specially made suit of 1 inch Shakaura crystals overlapping to protect the wearer from Laser and electrical attacks. The armor has been permanently ‘deadened’ so it cannot conduct electricity. The armor is relatively light and looks like medieval scale armor. The mini-plates are polished on the outer side to reflect laser fire, give the wearer 200 points of protection, much like an Albedo suit. Because of the tough structure of Shakara crystals it also gives the wearer 25 points of protection from Projectiles. The special ability of Shakaunis Armour is their ability to completely negate electrical attacks. All electrical attacks have no effect on the wearer unless aimed at an exposed part of the target.
Eorna Computer Arm Casing (C.A.C)
Eorna technology has lead to the development of the Computer Arm Casing (CAC). Much like the Bodycomp worn by frontiersmen, the CAC is a highly advance computer that wraps around the users forearm. This allows the user to have the computer readily accessable at any time. The special crystal display, allows high definition pictures and information to be viewed. Although only a handful have been discovered, their unique construction and good durability make them a prize sought by the collectors and scientists (as well as Mega-corps).
